Lead Primary Montessori Teacher

Job Summary:

To help establish, plan, and guide a classroom learning environment that supports the individual development of each child through the Montessori Method of education; to promote an atmosphere of safety which ensures mutual respect between children, families and staff members; to be responsible for recording and reporting each child’s progress to their family and the school’s Director and Administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To help implement a structured Montessori program, ensuring that all children will succeed in meeting individual developmental and behavioral goals.

  • To help train and educate assistant staff members in appropriate classroom management strategies and Montessori philosophy, and developmentally appropriate practices through class meetings, in-service training, and personal instruction.

  • To ensure the classroom environment is safe, all materials and furnishings are complete and appropriate, that fire drills and weather evacuation procedures are understood and practiced.

  • To help oversee the correct recording of classroom documents, including attendance, accident reports, and documentation of each child’s progress.

  • To help provide regular contributions to the newsletter; to help promote strong family and teacher communication through scheduled Fall Talk Abouts, Mid-Year Phone Conferences, and Spring Portfolios.

Education, skills, and attributes:

  • Montessori credential from an accredited training program

  • Bachelor’s Degree and experience in a Montessori classroom

  • CPR, First Aid, and Standard Precautions Training

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Agility, flexibility, and compassion

  • Strong personal commitment to the education of young children

Position begins over the Summer (flexible)


Lead Montessori Toddler Teacher

Job Summary:

To collaborate with Lead teacher in establishing, planning, and guiding a classroom learning environment that supports the individual development of each child through the Montessori Method of education; to promote an atmosphere of respect between children, families and staff members; to be responsible for recording and reporting each child’s progress to their family and the school’s Director and Administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Enrollment Coordinator 

Job summary:

To ensure appropriate enrollment and placement of students in established classrooms based on age, gender, and program; to promote an atmosphere of respect between children, families and staff members; to be responsible for maintaining children’s health and enrollment records; to ensure proper and professional management of school office.

Duties and responsibilities:

To provide enrollment information by phone, mail, internet, or personal contact to prospective families, in a timely, pleasant, and efficient manner; to schedule and conduct tours and observations for prospective families providing pertinent information regarding enrollment availability and a brief overview of the Montessori methodology as practiced by Cornerstone Montessori School; to process applications for enrollment and notify families of receipt of application and expected placement within the school; to schedule all necessary functions for newly enrolled students; family and child visits, family orientation, introduction of classroom staff and other items necessary enrollment protocols.

Education, skills, and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or

  • Documented experience as Office Manager or Director

  • CPR, First Aid, and Standard Precautions Training

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Agility, flexibility, and compassion

  • Ability to work in a diverse school environment

  • Strong personal understanding and support of Montessori philosophy and education

  • Understanding and support of the vision and mission of Cornerstone Montessori School
